Two-pan classic beef burgers at home
A simple burger is easier to manage when the buns and toppings are ready before the meat goes into the pan. These patties are kept modest in size for even cooking. Food-safe temperature matters more than the colour of the centre.

Two-pan classic beef burgers at home
Ingredients
How to make it
- Shape beef gently into two even patties about 1.5 cm thick. Season the outside with salt and pepper.
- Wash hands and clean surfaces after raw meat handling. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.
- Cook patties for approximately 5 to 7 minutes per side, adjusting heat to prevent burning, until the centre reaches 71°C / 160°F. Add cheese near the end if using.
- Toast buns in a separate clean pan. Assemble with lettuce, fully cooked patties, tomato and sauce, using clean utensils.
Make it work in your kitchen
Do not press repeatedly on the patties; it releases juices and does not replace a temperature check. Package size and fat content vary, so use the thermometer. This recipe contains wheat and may contain sesame, dairy or other allergens depending on buns and toppings.
